Bosjes is the newly open marvel that is on everyones lips and for good reason. The absolutely breathtaking establishment which opened earlier this year has had the food, fashion and travel industries fluttering to get a look at whats been going on.
The open air Teetuin (Tea Garden) is just another reason why the 1 hour drive from Cape Town through the gorgeous Du Toitskloof mountain range is the perfect day trip to enjoy a real high tea with a few spectacular treats on offer, not to mention this incredible view.
The Breedekloof Valley is an untouched wonder. It’s historic vineyards, wine estates and holdings date back for generations. Bosjes is the recent establishment to take the valley by storm and for good reason.
The iconic Chapel was designed by extortioner Coetzee Steyn which is truly awe-inspiring. It mimics the flight of a dove and truly has one humbled as you walk through the glass doors. The Christian aspect of the gardens, water, dove etc are incredibly symbolic and holds a lot of truth to the value of people in this area.
The Teetuin offers an inspired menu which boasts the freshly baked flavours by Head Chef Kim Cox and her incredible team.
“The tea garden’s menu includes carrot cake with cream cheese frosting; homemade scones with jam and cream; chocolate éclairs; oatmeal and raisin cookies; muffins; and meringues. On summer days, the chef’s signature vanilla ice cream, served in a sugar cone or with a chocolate brownie, and decadent peanut butter and caramel popcorn milkshake are bound to be popular orders. On the savoury side, choose from quiche or pie served with a side salad, or a gourmet sandwich filled with roasted vegetables, mozzarella and basil pesto” writes kitchen.net
The gardens are created by experienced grounds men and woman who have tirelessly put together a working, feeding and relaxing garden that truly inspired contemplation and peace. People are encouraged to come and find themselves and the answers they seek by winding their way through the labyrinth style gardens and up the biblically inspired hill of to look across the entire Breedekloof Valley.
The TeeTuin is open between 10h00 and 16h00, from Wednesday to Sunday, weather permitting. For further enquiries, call (27) (23) 004 0496. For more information about weddings and functions at Bosjes, visit www.bosjes.co.za
Although I was invited to enjoy this media preview, I have taken all of the photographs myself to showcase the day and all that is offered. All opinions are my own.
